U2 To Tour As Spiderman Musical Opens
April 13, 2011
U2, the guys behind the soundtrack of Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark, have decided to launch new tour dates to coincide with the opening of the musical on Broadway. The opening date is now set for June 2011. Last week Philip William McKinley replaced Julie Taymor as chief creative director, as the show continues to plow through controversy and change. Bono and The Edge are rumored to be adding a few belated tweaks to the musical score, as they prepare also for this rescheduled North American leg of their 2010 tour, postponed due to Bono’s back problems. Now, will you buy U2 tickets or will you buy Spiderman tickets?
Over in the UK, another superhero movie is being readied for the stage; Batman Live is scheduled to open in Manchester in July, before moving to London. At a cost of $20 million, Batman isn’t just chump change, but it’s a lot less than the $65 million that Spiderman has cost thus far. Batman will feature a batmobile designed by Formula One auto designer Gordon Murray. The sets were constructed by a Lady Gaga designer, and Harry Potter choreographer Anthony Van Laast is in control of the action sequences.
Spiderman Tickets Will Be Selling Even Faster!
February 22, 2011
As Spiderman tickets sell off the charts, it has been revealed that the show’s producers have hired veteran entertainment consultant Paul Bogaev – the architect behind the success of Academy Award winning movie/musical Chicago. The Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark musical has certainly had its glitches, but it is believed Bogaev will be used to optimize the musical and bring out the best in its actors, who have relished the challenging nature of the most expensive Broadway show ever. Spiderman tickets are selling so well because the show is both entertaining and a little dangerous; there are more stunts in Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark than in the rest of Broadway’s shows combined, ever. The arrival of Bogaev means even more accomplished help for the production, alongside U2′s Bono and The Edge, great actors and top writer Julie Taymor. Bogaev, who’s worked on huge Broadway productions like Cats, Sunset Boulevard and Les Miserables as a music director, will undoubtedly be a prize acquisition who’ll make this whole amazing Spiderman show even more so! Check the Spiderman schedule and buy Spiderman tickets now, because this show just got even better!

Spiderman Tickets: An Iconic Tale
February 1, 2011
Spiderman theater tickets continue to outsell virtually every other show on Broadway, and one of the actors, Green Goblin Patrick Page, has spoken about his experiences in the biggest Broadway smash in recent years. Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark tickets have even sold more than Wicked the Musical and is showing no sign of slowing down its awesome run on the Great White Way.
Page also spoke about fellow Spiderman actor Christopher Tierney’s infamous fall onstage and other Spidey-related controversy.
“All of us our hearts when into our throats, our stomach’s clenched up, it was one of the worst nights I can remember,” he recalled from the evening of Tierney’s much-publicized mishap. Page also spoke about allaying audiences’ fears about the dangers of appearing in such an active and exciting theatrical production.
“If they think the show is unsafe I always try to reassure them that not only is our show safe, it’s probably the safest show on Broadway,” Page says.
With direction by Tony Award-winner Julie Taymor and brilliant music and lyrics by U2 superstars Bono and The Edge, Spiderman is without doubt one of the most accomplished shows ever staged anywhere in the world. It is no surprise Spiderman tickets are selling so well and has created an iconic character on Broadway. The sheer ambition of Spiderman Turn Off The Dark dwarves all other Broadway productions. Spiderman has for decades been the figurehead of Marvel comic books, and the Spiderman schedule is expected to run for a while yet. The story of student Peter Parker, the teenager bitten by a radioactive spider that gives him super-powers, is well known, but never have Spiderman fans had the chance to see his adventures enacted by real people before their eyes, and they are buying Spidey tickets in huger numbers.
The beauty of the Spiderman story is that it teaches the flip side of great power – that of accepting responsibility for one’s place in society, and how we use our skills to make society a safer and better place. Spiderman tickets are the number one ticket on Broadway as we speak, and it looks like that won’t change anytime soon.

Marvel Studios Chairman David Maisel has confirmed that Spiderman, the Musical will be coming to Broadway. The announcement was made at the Consumer Conference in New York. The Spiderman Musical has been the subject of lots of hearsay and speculation in the past. A concrete announcement by the head of Marvel Studios assures Broadway fans that Spiderman tickets will be going on sale at some point.
Right now details are few, and no concrete Spiderman Musical dates have been announced. Maisel did say the show is scheduled to open sometime in 2009.
It has been reported that the musical will be directed by Broadway veteran Julie Taymor, who won two Tony’s for her work on Disney’s The Lion King. If anyone can bring the webslinger’s gravity-defying acrobatics to life on the stage its Taylor.
